Mission/Vision and Expected School Wide Learner Results

Vision Statement:

To prepare and support each student academically, socially, and emotionally for direct entry into college and/or additional post-secondary options with specialized preparation in the areas of engineering, and manufacturing, each with a focus on environmental sustainability.

Mission Statement:

The Stanley E. Foster School of Engineering, Innovation, and Design will prepare each student for college and additional post-secondary options by utilizing standards based curriculum and assessment, industry driven "linked learning" projects, and maintaining excellent communication and participation with all stakeholders.

Kearny EID School wide Learner Outcomes:

  • Demonstrate critical thinking by the comprehensive exploration of issues, ideas, artifacts, and events before accepting or formulating an opinion or conclusion.
  • Demonstrate innovative thinking by working in an imaginative way characterized by a high degree of creativity, divergent thinking and risk taking.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding and use of the design process by creating high level architecture, construction, engineering and manufacturing projects.
  • Demonstrate civic engagement by participating in activities of personal and public concern that are both individually life enriching and socially beneficial to the community.
  • Demonstrate personal and academic preparation for college and other postsecondary opportunities through the self-authorship and ongoing revision of a personalized and appropriate four year plan.
